How to replace butter / margarine with Crisco Shortening:
1 cup (= 2, 4 dl) + 2 tablespoons water = 1 cup (= 2.4 dl) butter / margarine.
Warning! Crisco's Shortening catches fire if it overheats, with the risk of serious burns
* Heat it gently without a lid on medium heat
* Lower the heat if it starts to smoke
* Keep an eye on
If your shortening catches fire:
* Turn off the heat
* Cover with a lid until cooled to room temperature to avoid re-ignition
* Never pour water on hot or steaming shortening
